The Ordinary introduces pure Retinol (a form of Vitamin A) in squalene in a formula free of water, vegetable oils and silicones that affect the stability of the retinol.
Retinol encourages cell turnover, leaving skin healthier and smoother while also addressing skin blemishes and dark spots and defying signs of aging - including reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and uneven skin tone while squalene moisturizes.
Due to the retinol that causes skin irritation and redness, The Ordinary offers you 3 different concentrations:
• Retinol 0.2% in squalene (low strength, moderate irritation)
• Retinol 0.5% in squalene (moderate strength, high irritation)
• 1.0% retinol in squalene (high strength, very high irritant) it is recommended to start from the smallest concentration to the highest, allowing to gradually build up the tolerance of the skin.
the use:
• Apply a small amount to the face in the evening as part of the skincare regimen after the hydro-cerium, but before heavy treatments.
• Do not use with other retinoid treatments.
• Acne-prone skin may experience a temporary increase in acne during the first few weeks of using any form of retinoid.

• Use during pregnancy or lactation, it is recommended to avoid any skin care products containing retinoids such as formulations containing GranActive Retinoid or Retinol.
• Retinoids make the skin more sensitive to UV rays. Sun avoidance and sun protection is especially important when using retinoids.
